In an incredibly tense final Ireland claim their 4th successive title after beating Sweden 2.5 - 1.5 and by 1 shot to claim the 2 bonus points to finish up 4.5-1.5.

As usual, we kick-off proceedings with the Bowls Trader World Cup followed by the first singles ranking event of the season, the UK Open. With 10 qualifying teams, the 4th running of the SMPT Bowls Trader World Cup will include the biggest field to date, while the UK Open will see 192 entrants, the 7th running of the competition will also see the its biggest field yet!

Friday, August the 18th sees the start of the new SMPT season and as usual kicks off with the Bowls Trader World Cup at the Falcon Indoor Bowls Club in Chelmsford, England.

The schedule for the Bowls Trader World Cup 2017 is now confirmed, as detailed below. The venue, Falcon Bowling & Social Club in Chelmsford, will be open to players and spectators from 10am on Friday 18th August.

Bowls Trader, a prominent online bowlswear supplier based in Shropshire, England, has joined forces with the SMPT to bring you the second World Cup of short mat bowls. This prestigious one day tournament takes place at the Bromsgrove IBC in England on the 19th August 2016, the day before the 2016-17 season gets underway with the UK Open.
Friday 21st August 2015 saw the start of the new SMPT season as Bromsgrove IBC played host to the inaugural Bond Bowls World Cup. Eight countries from the Henselite Order of Merit, plus a Rest of the World team, were divided into three groups of three. Each team was represented by its top four players, with each of them playing singles.
