We are thrilled to announce the debut of a brand-new competition that will include the best players in the world in our particular sport.
We will be holding a two-day Champion of Champions event on March 15th and 16th, 2025. Past SMPT singles event winners will compete for the title of Ultimate Champion and a sizeable financial prize pool; the winner will receive £2500.
Set in the lovely Peak district village of Broadbottom, near Manchester, and hosted at the Etherow Indoor Bowling Centre, we will provide you with unparalleled coverage of this tournament, including multi-mat, professional live streaming via Facebook & Youtube, live interviews, and much more!
You still have time to participate in this. Players will have one more chance to qualify at the World Masters in Belfast, where the winner will earn the final berth at the Champion of Champions.
We are grateful to Techniheat Plant Services Ltd for their support, which we are thrilled to have obtained. We are still actively seeking other firms to sponsor this event and gain from the excellent coverage that will be offered, including custom advertisements during streaming, a presence on the web and social media, and of course on-site graphics at the venue.
Please email us at info@shortmatplayerstour if you or anybody you know might be interested in this wonderful opportunity.
In the upcoming months, additional details regarding the event, including how to obtain a spectator pass, will be released.
Now let’s hear from one of the attendees. When we met up with former World No. 1 and perennial SMPT Champion Mark Beattie, he had this to say.
“I’m delighted to be able to take part in the upcoming SMPT Champion of Champions, and with a field of 32 players, there will be some mouth-watering groups & matches on show. When looking down the list of past champions, there are some fantastic singles players on it, and I have no doubt it will produce some great matches that the fans can watch live with the great coverage on offer”
