We are thrilled to announce that Leicester Indoor Bowls Club will be hosting the prestigious British Open! The event will be taking place on 10th & 11th January 2026.
Leicester Indoor Bowls Club proudly features 9 professional rinks, perfectly accommodating the 33 mats needed for the British Open. With ample space for the 192 competitors to unwind when they’re off the rink, the club offers a variety of amenities including a restaurant, bar, lounge, and coffee shop to meet everyone’s needs. Conveniently situated near the city centre, the club is surrounded by numerous hotels, dining options, and entertainment venues, ensuring plenty to do away from the competition.
We would also like to extend our thanks to York & District Indoor Bowls Club for hosting the British Open since 2018.
For the 2025-26 season we will be raising the entry fee for our World Ranking events. The new entry fee will be £40.
This decision has been made after careful consideration and in response to the rising costs associated with maintaining the quality of our services and events.
In recent years, we have worked hard to keep our fees at the current level, while striving to offer an exceptional experience for all attendees. However, with the increasing costs of hosting our events, we find that this price adjustment is necessary to continue offering the high-quality events and services that our participants expect and deserve.
We understand that any price increase can be challenging, but we are confident that this adjustment will enable us to continue delivering an outstanding experience for everyone. This change allows us to invest further in improving our facilities, such as our recent £40,000 investment in our equipment and storage in Belfast, including the purchase of 33 new mats, and increasing prize money which we have also announced.
In line with the increase of entry fees for the World Ranking events, we will be increasing the winner’s prize for all 6 events from £750 to £1000. All vouchers will also be uplifted in line with the new entry fee.
