It’s now a hat-trick of wins for the men in green, following another final victory win over England in 2018. For the second year running we have a completely different team, but returning are some familiar faces. Back as captain is former World No1 Mark Beattie and he is joined by PJ Gallagher and Joe Beattie. Completing the line-up is debutant Nathan Haire.
The second seeds will be strong favourites to progress from Group B and will be keen to make it four titles in a row. A Semi-final against Sweden is probable and the Irish will have to be at their best to progress. We all remember what happened at the inaugural event! Even so, in most eyes, Ireland remain favourites to triumph again.
