The Short Mat Players Tour is pleased to announce two new events that will take place in the spring of next year and will form the first SMPT Charity Weekend! Working with Park Community Ventures and Portsdown Short Mat Bowls Club we will be staging two separate events in aid of two different charities.
On Saturday 12 March 2016 we will be holding the ‘Trevor Pay Pairs’, a two-bowl pairs competition in aid of the Rowan’s Hospice, in memory of the much loved Hampshire bowler.
On Sunday 13 March 2016 we will be staging the ‘John Burgess Pairs’, a three-bowl pairs competition in aid of the British Heart Foundation, in memory of Craig’s father.
Both events will be held at Park Community School in Havant, Hampshire and they will be open to all bowlers. Entries will open via our website on 1 August 2015.
In addition to the two competitions there will also be target bowls, raffles and other activities to entertain the bowlers, their friends and families. An excellent range of refreshments including a bar will be available throughout the weekend. With a number of accommodation options close to the venue, we hope players will travel from near and far to make a weekend of it and help us support these excellent causes!
