
Less than two weeks after the Short Mat Players Tour staged the inaugural Verdemat Bowls British Open, we are pleased to announce that we will be returning to York next season on the 12th and 13th January for the fourth singles ranking event of the 2018-19 season.

Nigel Nicholls wins the Verdemat Bowls British Open after beating Dom Reed 9-7 in the final.
Tony Ealham wins the Bronze medal with a 13-10 victor over Paul Walker.
Peter Roberts wins the Plate after a 10-8 victory over Andy Howard and Keith Tinney wins the Shield 12-7 over Steve Durcan.

The 2017-18 season brings a new event at a new location on the Short Mat Players Tour. The British Open will be the fourth world ranking event and it will be staged in the beautiful city of York, a popular tourist destination.

The Short Mat Players Tour are excited to announce that a new event titled the British Open will be brought to you next season. The British Open will be the fourth World Ranking singles event in the 2017-18 season and replaces the Swedish Masters.
