
We are sad to announce that Phil Mills, one of the directors of the Short Mat Players Tour, has taken the decision to step down from his role with the SMPT. We fully support Phil’s decision and are delighted that he will continue to support our progression.

We are delighted to announce the dates for the first six events of the 2019/20 season. The remainder of the events in the second half of the 2019/20 season will be confirmed and announced as soon as possible in the New Year.

As our sixth full season draws to a close, it’s that time of year where you get to select your SMPT Players’ Player of the Season. We take a look at the players who have stood out above the rest. With one Belgian, five Englishmen, six Irish players, a Swede and a Welshman to pick from, who will get your vote and become the 2017/18 PPOTS?

We are delighted to announce the dates for the first six events of the 2018/19 season. The remainder of the events in the second half of the 2018/19 season will be confirmed and announced in January.

The World Rankings are based on the ranking points earned by players over a rolling 12 event period. Therefore the World Rankings represent performances across a minimum of 1 event and a maximum of 12 events.

The nominations for the 2016-17 Players' Player Of The Season award included two Belgians, six Englishmen, six Irish players, two Swedes, a Welshman and a Scotsman. The votes have all been counted and we can now confirm the top three!

Congratulations to 14 year old Jonas Hager of Sweden who is the SMPT's Young Player of The Season 2016-17. Jonas, who will be presented with the Ryan O'Neill Award later in the summer, claims the title won last year by Belgium’s Sibe Laureys, by virtue of finishing the season as the highest placed under 18 in the Order of Merit. Sweden's Victor Andersson was in second position with Alex Kley of England finishing third.

As the dust settles on yet another great season that saw a new World No 1 crowned, our first ever back to back finalist and then our first back to back winner, we take a look at those players who have stood out above the rest.
