In one of the most exciting developments since the formation of the Short Mat Players Tour, the 2014 World Masters will now include competitors representing the United Arab Emirates.
The weekend of Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd February 2014 witnessed the Short Mat Players Tour’s return to Bromsgrove, England for what was the 4th and penultimate world ranking event of the 2013-14 season, the English Masters, sponsored by Henselite.
Cecil Dillon has won his first SMPT title at the English Masters after defeating Dimitri Payne 9-8 in the final.

The weekend of Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th January 2014 saw the Short Mat Players Tour return to Sweden for the second staging of the Swedish Masters in what was the 3rd world ranking event of the 2013-14 season.
Following the huge success of the 2013 World Masters, the forthcoming 2014 event was scheduled to run over an extra day from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th April, to cater for the expected increase in entries.
